Why Was RattyRat Created? The little blue rat pictured in RattyRat.com's logo is my little rat girl, Baku. Baku was an incredibly special part of my life. Although, at first, my relationship with her was somewhat rocky. When I first brought her home, I had no idea what I was doing. When I stumbled across the advice that she should have a cagemate, I went right out and got her one, Sumi, who she readily accepted. However, later when I tried to bring Baku two new additional friends, Mojo and Jojo, she viciously attacked them, even ripping up Jojo's ear. I didn't like her for this and couldn't understand why she was being so mean. Then I discovered the internet. I quickly learned what the problem was. I was doing the introductions all wrong, and when I re-did them correctly, Baku accepted Mojo and Jojo without fuss. I learned so much from the internet, and as my knowledge grew, my relationship with Baku blossomed. I slowly learned how to communicate with her and understand her better, as I did with my other rats as well. However there was something special about Baku. Baku brought me more joy then I ever imagined anything could. Realizing this, I decided that I wanted to do something special in honor of this relationship. But what? Then it hit me. It was the Internet which helped me to have such a special relationship with my little girl, so in turn, I wanted to help other people gain that same special relationship with their rats, by creating the site of all sites, the ultimate rat lover's site! It made perfect sense. Thus, RattyRat.com was born in the later part of the year 2000. RattyRat has changed quite a bit over the years, and is constantly growing to be the best that it can be, all in tribute to a silly little blue rat, who stole my heart.
